AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS - STARTER MOTOR.

Dear All,

Starter motor is simple DC motor which is being used in Cars and Bikes.
This motor consists of a Rotor and a Stator.
In simple terms, Rotor is a rotatory part of motor.
and Stator is a stationary part of motor.

Most of the times Stator is a Electro-Magnet or a Permanent Magnet and,
Rotor is armature /coil which has DC current and it generate flux which gives force to rotate engine flywheel.

Depends upon motor design Rotor or Stator can be vice-versa.

The thickness of coil wire and magnetic power of the magnet are depend upon the force required to rotate engine.
